Last but not least, it's a smart idea to ask the movers if the moving team is qualified and they have a background check. Being vigilant today is quite important. There are many affordable movers that do not do background checks and do only limited preparation. It's a trainwreck that is waiting to happen. A background check on anyone who works here is carried out. The training starts once the prospective crew members have passed our screening process.

Are there additional fees?

Find out if any additional fees are required or when additional fees apply. If the destination does not have convenient access, or if the load has to be hand-carried over a certain distance, some businesses may charge extra for inconvenient items.

Do you have insurance?

Ask thorough insurance questions. For an added expense, the moving company will also have insurance. Insurance is typically based on weight, so whether your items arrive damaged or not at all, you will need to determine the value of your goods versus what the insurance policy will cover.

Can you have facilities for packing or storage?

Find out how it protects and marks products. Many businesses can shrink-wrap your sofa and offer a free blanket wrap service; this service can be paid by smaller businesses. Ask how items are numbered and how on arrival they will be marked. Make sure all your products, number of boxes, single bits, and odds and ends are described correctly.
